is there anything wromg with trying the stimulants for A.D.D. if you've had problems with addiction in the past, even if you feel you were self medicating and have been clean and sober for over 3 years?

I'll start by giving the canonical answer: "It depends."
What were you addicted to? I'd talk to your doctor
about it - and be understanding if s/he wants to
monitor your use of the meds closely.
