Hi Wayne. This Naltrexone is nasty to get started on. I was just curious if you had tough side effects at first. Broke 50mg in half, cut that in half for a dose of about 12.5mg. Extremely foggy headed, disoriented, more depressed than I was. It's only day three, so I expect side effects to be worse early-on. Nausea isn't bad. Just a heavy depressed foggy head. Very uncomfortable. Does that sound familiar? Maybe 12.5mg is too much to start? What side effects did you have? Thank you. JohnL

JohnL, Well, my first 8 days went about like this: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15, 25 mgs. I then stablized at 25. I know that I tend to be overly sensitive to meds and so I just instinctively started very slowly. My only problem was with muscle aches and tightness in my neck and back which gradually went away. I did not experience the issues that are troubling you but I have heard reports from others that were nearly identical. It continues to amaze me how each of us can react so differently to these things. So, I guess the bottom line to everyone is to try to be patient and go very slowly to give your system a chance to adjust. Wishing you a miracle... Wayne

John,
I have been on REVIA (Naltrexone) for about 12 days and I was nasuea in the beginning. I took 25mgs. right away then cut the 50 mgs into thirds, but am on 25mgs. now. Anyway, I combine it with celexa and Buspar and I experienced a good amount of calmness and extended energy. I take it in the AM with food and with my celexa. I don't smoke, drink or do caffeine. It didn't make depression worse-I don't think. Also, I am a recovering drug addict and have been sober 2.5 years. What are you taking Naltexone with?
