I have been on Paxil for 6+ years and it seems to be "dropping" me. Speaking to others with long-term Paxil usuage, this appears to happen rather regularly. I have experienced significant weight gain on Paxil and some difficulty reaching orgasms. While I hated those aspects of the Rx, my depressions are life threatening and did respond well to Paxil. The first sign that my meds are breaking down is that I have angry outbursts and anger management issues with an increase in prolonged depressed episodes. All of this is happening now. Any advice as to which drug to try next would be most appreciated. I did try Prozac but it made the anger issues really horrific. Scary!! Any feelings about Zoloft?

If you had such a successful run with paxil, you may be abandoning it too soon. Have you talked to your pdoc about augmenting it? I've been in the hunt lately for something to work with my nortriptyline ... in my readings, I've seen references to Cytomel helping restart the effect of an SSRI or TCA after it has pooped out. You may want to take a walk done the augmentation road before abandoning something that has worked so well for so long and may just need some psychotropic STP in the gas tank.
good luck,
bob

Bob, Thanks for the reply. Is there another name for Cytomel? I can't find it in my PDR or on Rx List Keyword Search. Thanks, again, I really appreciate the support.

The generic name for cytomel is liothyronine sodium.
