Hi, I am new to this site. The question, if you think everyone is against you, are you just being paranoid or just over-reacting.. This happens to me alot. I do worry alot about this, It's enough to drive me crazy. I also, (see rapid movement when I turn my head) like something had just moved...am I going crazy???? My pdoc told me that I suffer with major depression. I am on 300mg of the zoloft, buspar, tegretol, and zyprexa..I take up to 10mg of zyprexa daily...I wonder if I am schizophenia?? Thanks LV

When I was changing meds once, my doc asked me if I had any "hallucinations, (which I think referred to what you were talking about - out of the corner of my/your eyes...?) or any other 'psychotic' symptoms" with the new meds...Maybe you should ask about/explore the schizophrenia-thing further? I don't know much (anything?) about it, so I don't really have anything else to offer... but wanted to mention that, for whatever it may, or may not, be worth...

Welcome! It sounds to me like you need to have a more thorough discussion with your doctor. The questions you raise are ones that he or she should be willing to help you answer. I have read about the kind of visual trails you describe being a side effect of some meds. I think there might be some refences to it in the Psychopharmacology Tips section of this board (go to top of page and select Tips; you can search for "visual" and see what comes up.) For myself, thinking in terms of "crazy" or "not crazy" isn't very helpful. Certainly, thinking people are against you and worrying about it seem like pretty distressing symptoms. Do your meds affect them at all? Are you in talk therapy as well as taking meds? If not, it sounds like it might help. If you are, I'd recommend bringing these questions up with your therapist.

LV,
Can you say some more about the belief that people are against you? It's hard to know whether it's more like anxiety or more like paranoia just from that.
The thing where you turn your head might be some kind of vertigo - I don't know. Have you mentioned that to your doctor, and if so, what did s/he say?

Hi, you didn't say whether the visual "hallucination" (it might not really be one, I just couldn't think of another word right now) was there BEFORE you started any or all of your meds, or AFTER you had been on any or all of your meds. Visual Trails is an unwanted effect people on some meds have experienced.
I agree with Elizabeth about the paranoia/anxiety thing. When you think these thoughts of people being against you, do you question your concluding this or are you certain they are against you. In any event, the same question I asked about the visual trails pertains here, too. Did you feel this way BEFORE meds or AFTER meds?
Finally, I agree with all the others about having a more thorough discussion about this with your doctor.
This is the end of the thread.
