I drank alcohol with Trazadone, Prozac, and now Welbutrin. The curious thing for me, is that I don't have much of a desire to drink with Wellbutrin. I'm not a heavy drinker and don't have much of a tolerance (i.e. I like to drink-I'm just not very good at it) but I do enjoy an occasional glass of wine. Has anyone else noticed a decreased desire for alcohol while on Wellbutrin? Perhaps it's a good drug for combating addictive substances, not just nicotine.

As far as I know, ADs are suppose to take away someone's craving for alcohol. Most people lose their craving for alcohol once they find an anti-depressant that works for them.

Anti-depressants may help curb your appitite for alcohol if you are simply self-medicating.
BUT - if you have the gene that pre-disposes you to depression and alcoholism, as I believe I do, then it doesn't make a difference.
If you love alcohol and you love being high.......WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!
