Hello,
Can anyone tell me in layman's terms which part of the brain the drugs listed above effect?

I know a little about Adderall. It is a psychostimulant, containing amphetamine salts. It is a general stimulant, I think, in that it doesn't target a specific part of the brain. However, the stimulant action on the cortex is a desired effect in treating ADD. This, I think, and will welcome corrections from the lay experts on board, is the part of the brain that contributes to thinking, logic, attention, etc. This is my limited understanding.
I don't know anything about adrafinil. What I do know about Selegeline is that it is an MAO inhibitor. MAO is an enzyme that breaks down glutamate, which affects how brain cells communicate signals related to mood regulation. By inhibiting the action of the enzyme, less glutamate breaks down. Again, a limited understanding (and I am not sure if it is accurate). Stick around, hopefully you will get more info from others. Hope this helps.
