One of the major symptoms which accompanies my anxiety/depression is visual problems. It is as if there is an aura that I can see and it makes it very difficult to focus on individual items for a period of time-especially light sources. These symptoms are not attributed to meds as this started before I even saw a psychiatrist for the first time. Since my vision is my primary perceptual source, it is very troublesome and anxiety inducing to deal with these problems. I am wondering if anyone else has similar symptoms and if they have any explanations for the phenomenon as ever better any successful therapies. Many thanks, Jeff

I have been experiencing the same thing. Sometimes I think I have a tumor or some neuro problem. I have been suffering from panic attacks for almost 4 months now ever since I stopped taking Zoloft. The visual problems only add to my anxiety. I wish I could tell you why it was happening--I have no idea. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. By the way--do you experience this even when your eyes are closed?? When I try to go to sleep and close my eyes--I sometimes see color. it is really freaky!!!

Thanks for the post. I don't have this problem when I close my eyes, but have heard of other people with things like that. If you have used drugs in the past there is something called halucinogenic perceptual persiting disorder. It causes all kinds of weird stuff. Let me know if you find out anything more. Thanks.

I know you believe this is an effect of anxiety and I believe you but have you also considered seeing an Opthamologist? Or have you already?

Seen one. Nothing other than a little dry eye and an astigmatism. Doc doesn't think these things are the answer and neither do I. It worsens to varying degrees often along with my anxiety.
