I've read some comments about benzo's resulting in higher levels of Human Growth Hormone, which might be doing it. Another possible route is decreased anxiety causing lower cortisol levels and less suppression of testosterone.

If that was true, benzos would probably have beneficial effects for weightlifting. I'd be curious to find this out too.
