You've got a post up above in which SalArmy4me suggests that people with depression (illegally) order medications from overseas, without the supervision of a doctor.
Why do you allow people to use your board to urge others to break the law?
Taking psychotropics under a doctor's supervision is dangerous enough. Taking them alone is sheer folly. I'm sure you'll agree that an agitated depressive who would resort to 75% of the maximum dosage of parnate with its amphetamine metabolite, as your poster suggested, would almost certainly become psychotic! There is a reason that amphetamines are restricted, and taking them when one is already prone to agitated states makes as much sense as trepaning, another "cure" for depression that is touted on the web. (For that matter it isn't illegal.)
If you condone such "advice" you would be doing us depressives a much bigger favor by shutting the board down. Like it or not, by registering the board in your name, you do give it an approval of some sort.

While I agree that this practise shld nver be *actively* encouraged, and that however well intentioned, Salarmy's posts were inappropriate, I nevertheless think this topic shld be discussed freely & openly.
The folks on this board seem more sussed than most & the blanket criticism of Salarmy is evidence of a healthy degree of self-regulation (in which I place my trust).Doncha think the closure of this board would harm many more (myself included)?
FWIW-I *do* advocate seeking a professional opinion wherever possible (it just isn't always)-my treatment has improved since I sought the counsel of a psychopharmacologist (on yr insistence AndrewB-thanx).

See the way heroin-users are persecuted; many of them are self-medicating thus undetected (by a medical establishment not doing its job properly) psychiatric conditions, or pain conditions inadequately treated because of rampant 'abuse-potential' paranoia.
