Hi,
I was on parnate a year and it helped to an extent but I had hair loss..Anyone else experience this on parnate and will it subside??Why would this happen??I had my thyroid checked 3 times and it was fine, as soon as I stopped the parnate the hair loss quit.I was only on 50 mgs and am very curious about the higher doses for social phobia.I was on 90 mgs of nardil per day for 3 years and it helped my sp great but caused severe swelling in my legs along with other problems so it is not really an option for me anymore.
I really want to try parnate again and discuss the higher doses with my dr. but are there any others out there with sp that feel they have benefitted from parnate at higher doses??How about the side effects??What about hair loss??Please help,I feel so confused about all this.

Hi, Capar. I've been on Parnate for various durations, as long as two years at one time. I believe my dosage was somewhere close to 90 mg. I didnt' experience any hair loss. The problem for me was very, very dry mouth. In fact, I had to walk around with a diet coke wherever I went. Worse, though, was my slowed speech. My wife and friends thought there was some problem with me. My voice mails at work seem to be like a 45 rpm record played at 33. Overall, not the efficacy for the side effects.

For hair loss with other meds they suggest taking mineral supplements--Zinc and Selenium. Search for hair loss--there's lots of stuff. Go to tips and search as well. Good luck. I lost hair on Wellbutrin and am using Noxetine shampoo--it's helping I think.
