effexor

My doc recently prescribed Effexor for me. I am reading all the notes posted on this site & they all seem negative. I would like to hear from some people that have good things to say!

Hi Mixie:
I was feeling exactly the same! I was prescribed Effexor XR about 6 weeks ago and, after reading all the negative posts, started to get concerned. I'm still working up to the dosage my doctor has recommended, but I am already starting to feel some effects. Just last night I had a full 8-hours of uninterrupted sleep, which is practically a miracle for me! And I realized this morning that I am starting to feel more relaxed and a little less stressed. I'm feeling optimistic about Effexor. Admittedly, I'm having a few side effects (twitching legs and one night I had strange flashes of light), but nothing extreme.
My best wishes to you ... I hope things work out for you!
Kath

It isn't perfect for me (No med is, I think), but it works. There are some side effects to deal with, but I have found that combining it with serzone has helped with that a lot. But effexor was the best medication in terms of its AD effect on me. I have been on it for about 5 years.

We each have different responses, so I am glad you didn't get scared off by the bad hype here lately. Just monitor how your body and mind feel.
