My previous message on this seems to have disappeared, anyway the general gist was this:
Can anyone give me specific details about careers in psychoanalysis, and how I would go about getting into one of these careers?

I think you're in the wrong place. I shouldn't think anyone here thinks psychoanalysis works any better than chatting to a close friend

I think psychoanalysis is not a term we use now, it is more 1980's, maybe. At least a masters and perhaps a PhD is required. 6-8 years of school.
Check the numbers of suicide, burn out, and rate
of pay (depends on the country) before you decide.Pat
