Hello anybody who cared to follow that so seductive thread.
Quite frankly, I'm scared....but trusting my doc.
I was on FXR 150 for 8 weeks, with zero effect. My doc has advised me to go cold turkey on FXR and start the Fluanxol (1mg twice a day) immediately.
I'm not even sure what class of drug it is. Neuroleptic? Used in 'asylums' in the early 20th C.
Probably.Anybody out there with any thoughts?
All I can find are about three threads for this little baby. None good.
Anybody any the wiser?
Quell my fear/fan the flames?
On the positive note ,I'm almost 72 hours FXR free and feel much more together already. How long have I got before I can celebrate beating the withdrawals? Weeks?
CheersPaul

In reply to Effexor XR to...Fluanxol?!? Any help sought!!!!, posted by PaulW on April 21, 2001, at 4:35:55
Hi Paul,
my search gave me 50 references for Fluanxol. yes it is a neuroleptic for short term treatment of moderate depression.
would you like to try copernic for searching the web? It's a program that uses up to 70 search engines simultaneously. you can go to copernic.com and download a free version.
all the best,
mila

I wasn't really expecting much from my posting and was pleasantly surprised to see your reply.Have you any idea what constitutes 'short term treatment'?
I can say I've had a better day today and feel that the Effexor was clearly not the drug for me. No w/d symptons yet either fingers crossedI've downloaded copernic too.
All the best to you too
Paul

Hi Paul,
short term in treatment means anywhere from single administration to up to 3 weeks, or 25 days. Long term anywere beyond several months.
ask your doc about his plans for your treatment.
i am glad you have no withdrawal symptoms from effexor. what a blessing!
i wish you well
mila
