Mirtazapine to Help Sex Side Effect From Effexor?

Posted by alexa on May 2, 2001, at 19:27:15

I just read someone's post about the above title.

Anyone know anything about it? I've been suffering from this awful AD side effect for 1 1/2 yrs and it SUCKS!!!

If this does work I would really appreciate the knowledge!

Thanks,

Alexa

I'm not sure of how it would work with effexor, but I take remeron and it actually decreases my sex drive. I can have orgasms, but I never really feel like having sex. The person who mentioned it above is a male, and I'm a female, so maybe there's the difference? I have found that ritalin makes the sexual apathy disappear, and it makes orgasms easier, so you might want to look into a stimulant?

I noticed that mirtazapine restored ejaculatory normalcy when I was on Effexor. I don't know if it affects sex drive, though... It took about a month to work (the mirtazapine).
