has anyone been on a med besides wellbutrin and not gained weight from it? i gained weight on all ssri's and effexor....whats the deal? i hate how i feel now being depressed and all but i dont wanna be fat either...all the ssris make me wanna do is eat and sit ... any suggestions?

Did you try Wellbutrin?
Topiramate is being prescribed by psychiatrists a lot because of its tendency to promote weight loss. It can be taken with an SSRI or Wellbutrin.

I always lose about 5-10 pounds while on the SSRIs. Go figure??

I've lost a few pounds on Prozac over the last 3 months or so. I feel my appetite is curbed a bit on Prozac though I still like my candy binges! I was always hungry on Paxil, ao I got off that [very gradually] and find the Prozac more suitable for me. I started at 10 mgs, went to 20 mgs nd then doubled to 40 mgs. I have a little insomnia for which I take Xanax at night.My friend is on Prozac over 10 years with no weight gain. I know we'e all different, but I don't have cravings like I did on Paxil. ..Just my thoughts.

I've never gained weight on Prozac, Paxil, or Paxil/Wellbutrin combo. I've been using these for 2 years or so. A friend of mine has been using Prozac for 4-5 years and has not gained weight.
On the other hand, I carefully monitor my weight, and immediately cut back if I go over my "max"... and just get used to hunger pangs until I drift back down to "normal." Maybe weight gain prevention just takes some extra care. You can't gain weight if you don't eat more than you need!
