Am interested in knowing if serzone helped you sleep better and relieved your anxiety. Also am interested in knowing how long did it take before you noticed positive changes. Thank you.

I have been taking Serzone for probably about 2 months. It has helped. I like it. It does help me sleep. It knocked me out at first, but I am slowly increading the dose with much better effect. My doctor said he and his colleagues have not had much luck with it, but I never responded to drugs the way he had thought in the past, so we tried this. I am quite pleased. Also amm taking Wellbutrin 300mg/day. Am only on 75mg Serzone/2x day.
Hope this helps.

> I haven't been as successful. I'm taking 400 mgs of Wellbutrin, divided in 4 doses, and 300 mgs of Serzone, all taken in the evening. It took me a long time to build up to my current level of Serzone because the side effects were so awful. It's supposed to be somewhat sedating and I think, it has helped my sleep. However, altho it's not supposed to do this, I have noticed that I'm definitely more easily agitated, and I've started to use xanax much more frequently. Since i can discern very little therapeutic benefit to the serzone, I've discussed dropping it with my pdoc, but I frankly have too much going on right now to brave a meds switch. I hope your experience is better. Remember, we react to all of these drugs quite idiosyncratically. Mair

Yes, I take 500 mg all at night, and it helps me sleep (counters the insomnia from the effexor). The combo is a good one for treating my depression.
The first month or so was very difficult, though. The initial effects of increased emotionality, crying, zombiness, coordination problems, etc. were rough, but after those first weeks, it got better.
This is the end of the thread.
