I've been at 40 mgs of Prozac now with my pdocs approval over 3 months and was at 20 mgs 4 weeks before that. 40 mgs has worked well for me, but I'm starting to get that 'old self' feeling like getting ticked off at so many things. It's hard to 'go with the flow' and I was doing so well. Should I try going to 50 or 60 mgs; I know people take that dose, but the higher the dose I guess the more side effects though I'm okay with the 40 mgs [little sexual side effects]. I take Xanax at night for insomnia. Anybody have any thoughts. I don't see my pdoc for 6 weeks and I called his office to leave a message, but has dose increase helped anyone like 40 mg helped me from 20 mg. I was feeling pretty good. Now, I'm not sure. I don't want to mess up my relationship or my job.

> JoyHi!!
Why not combinate Procac with Remeron. Remeron actuallty reduced the sexuall side-effect. If you raise Prozac you can be sure of more sexual side-efect. And please whatch up with Xanax! This drug and Temesta is associate with server windraw and addicted problem. I have seen this occur many times in the hospital where I used to work. Diazepam is much more safer in this area. And when you use Remeron, you probebly sleep, with out any benzo. (Im from Sweden. Hope you can stand my speeling)

I think that a dosage increase might be the right thing to do. Especially if your depression is returning. But if your depression is not returning, and it's just that you get ticked off too easily, then it's a harder decision.
Another option is to augment the Prozac with another drug such as Wellbutrin, Buspar, or Lithium.

> JoyWhen I was taking Prozac I never noticed any major increase in side effects untill I got WAY up there in dosage. When I got to 100mg it made me sleep about 14 hours a day, so at that point I swtched to Zoloft. Since you aren't feeling side effects yet, but you are feeling that the current dosage isn't enough ... I'd say try an increase. I know it can be scary to experiment with your life an your body, but you won't know unless you try, right?

> JoyI find the difference between 40 and 50 is more tolerable than 40 and 60 but I'm very sensitive to meds. If you go up and it's too much you can either go back to your old dose or skip at day. Too bad your doctor doesn't return phone calls more promptly;(
