Worked up gradually to 20 mg Geodon by 6/14 ... now, two weeks later, am just too dopey and tired during the day. Tried 10 mg last 2 nights. . any advice? Can't get a take on whether I should have pushed higher, am just not tolerating this med as well as I did Zyprexa, or whether to hang at just 10 mg. caps (which am craftily making up myself!)
And no, can't go back on Zyprexa, gained 30 lbs. that are just now coming off. .
Thanks,
Zo

What are you taking the Geodon for?

Hi, Sal, your posts are great. Am taking it as a replacement for low-dose Zyprexa, which dampened emotional over-reactivity. . .I have CFS from a pesticide exposure, also TLE and ADD. The Zyprexa was incredibly brain-orgainzing. . I'm a writer, and was able to begin working on my novel again. But the weight gain was *horrendous*. . .and I seem to be holding onto the gains from 6 months on Zyprexa.. . and Geodon doesn't seem to be the same at all, it's kinda neither here nor there. Usually I get a clear intuition about meds. . .Maybe I should have hung on thru the increasing fatigue at two weeks. . am seeing pdoc in a few weeks, but thought somebody here might have some experience. They are *supposed* to be equal drugs, but as we know. . .everybody is different. And I'm incredibly med sensitive.
I originally got on Zyprexa because I was coming apart in his office one day - am recovering from an abusive marriage - and he said, Here, take two of these and your ego will reassemble in the morning. Damned if he wasn't right!
Since then, my life conditions have gotten better. . .maybe I don't need the limbic dopamine blockade at all. . or maybe there's something else.
Thanks for listening!
Zo
