Well,
I tried an experiment. I tapered down my dosage from 112.5 mg to just 75 mg,and I feel much better.
(For those of you who haven't followed,on the 112.5 mg I was having thinking impairment, terrible feeling of being on speed, and horrible sweats.)
Now I feel more human, relatively no jitters, and haven't sweat half as much, and it's only been the first day back down to 75 mg!
The only thing I do notice is that I am a little irritable again, which is one of the things the effexor is supposed to treat,in my case anyway. (So has it failed,or is it just falling short?)
Obviously going over 75 mg is too stimluating for me,but 75 mg still allows for some irrritableness.
So maybe I just need some kind of booster of sorts, too combat the irritableness. Because I'm not depressed at all on 75 mg,so I thought that maybe something could just help me be less irritable.
So anyone have any thoughts on this? Is staying at 75 mg of effexor and just having something of an enhancement a possibility? Because it works really well for my depression, and I'd hate to lose that by having to totally switch meds again.
I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks! Stef

The irritability is probably just a temporary effect of adjusting to a decrease in the dose. Hang in there for another week and see if things even out. See the posts on Effexor withdrawal.
This is the end of the thread.
