I have been taking effexor xr for over a year now. I began taking it for severe anxiety and the inability to sleep. I am currently taking 150mg in the morning. I am still experiencing many sleepless nights. However, the anxiety is soooo much better. I just don't know what to do about the sleep. My doc doesn't know whether taking the effexor at a different time of day would help with the sleep or not. I'm wondering if anyone could shed any light on my problem.

Remeron is an Anti-Depressant that is more like Effexor XR than the SSRIs (Prozac etc), but it has a potent antihistamine (sleeping pill like) effect. This sedation/sleep improving effect is strongest at the starting dose of 15 mg and lessens with dosage increases. Remeron improves sleep quality and lengthens total sleep time. Take one hour prior to bedtime. Peak blood level is two hours post administration.

try remeron 30 mg forsure. my dr. put me on it for insomnia and depression, the only thing I dont like about it is that I have sugar cravings and I have no energy during the day, but you might respond differently. But it deff knocks me out at night.

Hi, Did you thought about Chloral Hydrate ?That could be a worst case option. VERY EFFECTIVE, maybe the most one. VERY CHEAP.
