NOONDAY DEMON: who's read it, is it a must-read?!?

Posted by Janelle on September 23, 2001, at 15:21:02

A book came out recently with quite a bit of fanfare, called *The Noonday Demon* (I forget the subtitle), but it is all about depression and geographic and demographic aspects, written by a man who has been in clinical depressions for much of his adult life. I'm wondering who out there has read this book and what you think of it - is it a *must read*? Thanks.

Janelle:

I have read this book. I quite enjoy reading for a little bit each day and thought this book was well written. Its focuses quite a bit on medication. I look at Dr-Bob archives and hope to read some of the books recommended here sometime as I am sure they are very good. Maybe there are some hidden secrets in some. What did you like most about 'The Noonday Demon'.

Hi -- I have *not* yet read 'The Noonday Demon', although I gave it a good skim through in the bookstore, so I posted this to find out what people who *have* read it thought of it! I do plan to read it someday (like after I'm finally finished with school this semester and can do some *real* reading!!)

Dr. Bob:

There are many medication issues in the book, and if we discuss those, can we keep it on this board?
Thanks..
