I'm seeing my pdoc today and have been backsliding for about a month. My last few appts, I was doing well after years of failures.
I'm taking 60mg Celexa at night
2 mg Clonazepam throughout the day
400 mg of Wellbutrin SR-200mg am 200mg 6hours later
40-50 mg Ritalin throughout the dayI never quite know if it's the meds or the time of year, or not socializing, etc. I guess it's all the above.
She had talked about adding Zyprexa several months ago but I personally don't want to screw with AP's.
I can sleep forever, have little desire for anything, and my friendships, etc. are melting down too.
I'd like to work w/ this combo but, as always, am open to babblers input.Thank you,
Phil

My doc says wellbu is activating, and you are also taking klonopin which is NOT activating (at least not to me). Doesn't that work at cross-purposes? One cancels out the other?
No laughing now, as I've said to many a student, there are really no dumb questions. (snicker).

Shar, I brought up getting off Ritalin and trying Provigil. She reached for that RX pad so fast it made my head spin. She liked the idea and said she's had good luck with it. Maybe I'll get over my sleep-a-thons. I'll let you know what happens but I like the idea of getting off Ritalin for a while. We shall see.Abnormally yours,
PhilClass, next question.

Phil,I know it's too late for this go round but you should seriously comsider Mirapex if your main problems now are anhedonia/apathy. It's the one thing that brought about a mood change without being a stimulant. I tried the Adderall/ritalin/Provigil route and none of them affected my moods - just whether I was awake or not. I don't find Mirapex sedating probably because I take it with Zyprexa and that is very sedating.
I don't think most doctors are really up on the benefits of Mirapex because the studies showing its AD effects are fairly recent. It does work on the dopamine system which it appears is being ignored by your current meds.
Just A thought,
Chris

Thanks Chris, I'll definately file this away and bring it up. Actually, I've talked to her about Mirapex at one time but I didn't have as much info as I usually do and we veered off onto something else.
I'm sure I will know pretty quickly if Provigil will work or not. The Ritalin has always helped me but I wanted to try something else for the non-stop weekend sleeps.
I'll let you guys know.Phil

Phil,Been keepin' my eye on you! Other comments in other threads, too, like, when you're depressed, all you want to do is read books about depression... Me too! I need to read the Noonday Demon book. I saw it in the bookstore, it's still only out in hardback, I think.
(Also: the Starbucks being in the Starbuck's bathroom... hahaha, funny.)
Anyway... How did the pdoc appointment go the other day? I'm very interested, because I've been reading about Provigil, and wondered if I should be on it for mood brightening. I've been sick for the last few days, so that only makes me want to dig deeper under the covers, and sleep the days away. I've never been on Ritalin, but often wondered about myself and ADD, although I think my concentration problems just have to do with BP II and depression.
Let me know how the appointment went -
Wendy
ps: weird thread about cyanide posted by stjames, huh? as of now, he still hasn't responded to everyone's demands that he explain. I crossed myself, just to be safe.

> Been keepin' my eye on you! > uh oh.
Appt went okay but I won't be getting off Ritalin. I read a lot about Provigil when I got home and it's not liked by a lot of people.
This is my third day @ 200mg but I'm still augmenting with Ritalin. I'll give the Provigil a little more time. My naps have been a little shorter. I haven't seen any mood brightening. I do see it with Ritalin, though. Ritalin, IMO, is still one of the most helpful drugs I've taken.
