Does anybody really know what action Neurontin has on
neurotransmitters?Neurontin works and I would recommend it for
those suffering from atypical or typical depression. It seems to be effective against depression/social phobia/panic attacks -- you know, that ugly mix that comes with atypical depression.
Hey, it's not perfect, but nothing is. But I'd put it up against Nardil, anyday.

The latest I heard, it was a selective, voltage-dependent calcium channel blocker in the hippocampus.

I take 4800mg/day divided into 1200mg every six hours. The half-life is 8 hrs, and I really can notice when I miss a dose.
That's the one frustrating thing about Neurontin --- you have to take it periodically all day.
Your husband's depression could be helped if he upped the dosage. I needed to take the max of 4800mg for relief.
I'm not a doctor, so please consult with your physician.
