Now that I got your attention :) I have posted here plenty of times in reference to my panic/anxiety attacks and thinking I was dying..etc.etc.... Anyways, I have tried all types of medications {PAXIL, ZOLOFT, PAXIL, etc.} and have had HORRIBLE side effects to it all. I have been taking remeron at night to help me sleep. Its probally the only med that has "little" side effects. I love it. Anyways... I began taking "BuSpar" today.... they are 10mg pills and i only took 2.5mg around 7pm. it is now 7:52 pm. I am so scared that its going to "trigger" an anxiety attack. Can you all please tell me any experiences you have had or HEARD about BuSpar? I am the most sensitive person to medication. Is it going to have side effects similar to Paxil and Zoloft? Is it going to make me "nervous" and unable to sleep? I am so scared right now. I am scared to lay down... I am scared to do anything. Is it going to kill me? Can i take it along with remeron occasionally? what are the side effects you all have experienced... most of all... Am I wasting my time taking this med? I NEVER hear positive things about it. My doc precribed it to me becasue of my experiences on all the other meds. Well thanks for your responses. LoVe Cynthia

Hi. I also had a horrible reaction to Paxil. It made me completely freak out! I was even more nervous and anxious than before, which I hadn't thought possible! Not to mention I gained weight and lost my sex drive. Then my dr put me on Buspar, and it has been amazing! For about a half hour after I take it, I feel a little strange, but I've been taking it for about a month, and it has been great! My husband recently got a job in another city, and so I'm going to have to move and find a new apartment and everything else that goes along with moving, but I've been dealing with it so well. I don't wake up at 4am every morning gasping for breath and my heart racing. I don't have panic attacks when I'm in a crowded place, or when things don't go exactly the way I plan for them to go. I feel like a completely different person -- someone who can actually cope with things. I can sit and read a book for a few hours now, and actually concentrate on what I'm reading. Before I started taking the Buspar, I read a lot of not very positive comments on this message board, so I was really nervous about taking it. But it has really made a difference for me. I hope you have success with it, too, but keep in mind that these drugs work differently for everyone. Good luck!

Among all ADs, Paxil is probably the most effective for PD. Try taking it (high dose - 60-80mg). Well, if nothing helps, get to the older and well proven treatment: a high potency benzodiazepine (Klonopin/Rivotril or Xanax) for the rest of your life. 100% Effective, though "addiciting".
