I'm wondering if anyone here with anxiety/depression issues has used Yasmin birth control pills for more than a couple of months. If so, would you mind posting your experience? I need to take BC pills, but the ones with higher progesterone give me anxiety all month and more PMS. I'm a little nervous, because you can't compare the prosgestin in this one. Any help would be very welcome. Thanks! Beth.

Beth,
I have been researching this myself. Not on Yasmin but the others. I chose Ortho Tri Cyclen because of its low progestin activity. Check out this site www.fpnotebook.com/GYN97htm.
Good luck,
Bonnie

Beth,
I have been on Yasmin, active pills only (no periods) for about 4 months. Yasmin is like no pill I have taken before, in that I have been able to stay on it more than a day or two!
It really has NOT increased my anxiety at all. In fact, the first month or so, I felt unusually calm. It has gotten my cycles under control, so the pms is almost gone. I would highly recommend this pill.Of course, YMMV, but I think the lack of androgenic side effects makes this pill so much easier to tolerate...No hair loss, weight gain, less anxiety. Try a google.com search (web) and type in depression and Yasmin. There are some nice articles on how Yasmin is hoping to replace AD therapy for PMS.
If you have more Q's I would be happy to answer...My thoughts aren't flowing at the moment :)
Take care,
