I've been on a every SSRI you can imagine with marginal treatment for social anxiety. I've been on Wellbutrin SR (150mg once daily) for 5 days now. I quit paxil because it made me sleep all the time, and I gained 20 pounds in 5 weeks. Paxil seems to do OK, but I was very apathetic and fatigued. I'm starting to have re-occuring social anxiety again now.
I went to the gym today and started to tremble at the idea that people were staring at me and I might have to talk to a stranger. I haven't had that feeling in a while, and here I am an hour later still shaken by the fact.
So, anyway my question, has anyone had success with Wellbutrin for Social Anxiety??? Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong but I think you may not get the same effect with Wellbutrin as you did with Paxil; usually more serotonergic medications are more effective in Social Anxiety. One author says, "Bupropion (Wellbutrin) has not been well studied in social anxiety disorder,30 but its performance in other anxiety disorders has been disappointing."
