I was wondering what the difference between Glucose & regular table sugar is after I saw Glucose pills for diabetics at the store the other day?
Since the two primary fuels for the brain are Glucose & Glutamine, would it help to take Glucose pills while studying?

I could be wrong but here goes--
All carbohydrates including bread, pasta and yes-even table sugar are broken down in the gut to Glucose. Glucose is the primary fuel for the brain and body. Table sugar is a more complex molecule than glucose, but they are basically the same.So to answer your question: No, Glucose pills will no more help you study than taking M&Ms. Try Ritalin or better yet Focalin!

In plain English, glucose is sugar from fruits and veggies.
The table sugar, or sucrose, is the refined, complex type.
Hope it helps.

Sucrose is a disaccharide, made up of glucose and fructose.
It is extracted from sugarcane and sugar beets.
