I have been on PROZAC for 8 weeks with no adverse effect on my sexuality whatsoever.
However many of the preceeding posts have me worried about the subject.
Am I OK because I have not been affected in 8 weeks, or will this curse catch up with me later?
Any comments would be appreciated.

If it hasn't effected you yet, it's not likely to.
I've known a few people who just don't get the sexual
side effects from an SSRI. God how I envy them :-)

Prozac is a great SSRI isn't it? 8 weeks? You are clear my friend.

I don't want to disappoint or distract you. If you are being helped by prozac stick with it. But I can't give you any assurance of its adverse sexual reactions. It didn't cause any sexual problems for me initially and I remember there was some kind of satisfaction because of the delayed orgasm. But after a few weeks I noticed a gradual decline in my sexual desire with increasing in severity and believe me it destroyed my desire phase completey now. Still my performance is not affected, as I am getting an erection prior to intercourse. But a sexual activity with the total absence of desire! Do you think it is appropriate? Then there is nothing wrong in it. But for me, it is nothing but a mechanical nonsense!! That is what makes it important. Prozac made me a machine. I am getting up very early in the morning. Going for work and doing other things, engaging in sexual activity. But just like a machine. Without true emotions.
Perhaps you will ask me how it is possible to get an erection in the absence of sexual desire. But my answer: it is very much possible. As we are getting morning erections without desire and stimulation. It is simply a reaction like that. And worsely, my control in ejaculation which I got at the initial stage is gone completely.
This desire phase dysfunction seems to be long lasting if not permanent. I tried a prozac free five month period and still the desire phase remained unchanged. Now I am not in a position to get off prozac, because I think psychologically I have addicted to this stuff. That nasty hollow feeling and not being myself when I get off this stuff is really alarming. I am thinking for a substitution and probably will go back to klonopin monotherapy which helped me much in my past. A help 150 mg of elavil and 40 mg of prozac failed to bring.
Be careful dear. If you are lucky enough, you can stay on prozac as long as without any sexual adverse reactions. But if you notice any decline in your sexual desire, that is firmly attributable to the drug, by heaven's sake stay off it before it inflicts a long term damage. A life without sexual desire is hard to live. A life with a marked emotional blunting cannot be called a life.
