Duh! Me! Needed more Paxil!

Posted by jda1292 on September 10, 2002, at 7:15:52

I have been insistent for a while that Paxil is making me tired. After 7-8 years on the stuff I think I am a pro.

Not the case. My Pdoc hinted that the tiredness might be depression. "Could the tiredness be depression" No, I replied, I know what it feels like. NOT!

I upped my Paxil to 60mg, for I was thinking about lowering it from 40mg. At 60mg I am not tired! The fatigue I had was depression! I am taking Paxil for Panic and depression, but I thought that the depression was a the minor of the illnesses, but based on the way I was feeling it is major enough to make me sleep.

Sorry for the verbose message, but I wanted to express that we all need to consider that tiredness can be a symptom of depression and that fatigue is always not the result of too much medication. I thought I knew what depression felt like, but it has changed it's texture over the years.

I'm with that. Take more Celexa and sleep in less, be more active, and try to participate.

that is a tricky one alright. so do you think paxil really works for depression, and not just anxiety? are you taking any other meds that could make you tired in combination w/ the paxil? i have been absolutely exhausted lately, but i can't tell if it is interaction effects or depression. i tend to think it is the meds b/c i get frustrated laying in bed and not getting up b/c i have so much to get done. when i was really depressed i didn't have that motivation at all. then again, like you said, maybe depression has changed on me. regardless of whether it is meds or depression, i'm not getting much done around here. and that makes me depressed.

That's great that you feel better. I'm on 40mg of Paxil and it has pooped out a bit - I am thinking of going up to 60mg - but my doc says this is too high. Is your doc happy with this dosage?

Thanks
Jackie

I am taking Klonopin .5 x 3 daily. I miss dose sometimes or go even lower. I think this may be part of the problem. I am not admitting it but this is part of the problem.

I started getting tired again. I need another med. I am going to try celexa again ir try zoloft. I can't stand this tired feeling. I am in sales and this doesn't help me earn a living. Snore......

Listen to your doc. I am getting tired again. I am actually going to try wean off Paxil tomorrow with Celexa. I can't keep sleeping through life. I might have to live with some more fear, but I can't afford to keep sleeping.
