Life w/o Neurontin and Effexor

Posted by Jason Dicks on October 21, 2002, at 10:57:17

Suffering dangerous withdrawels, advice needed. I'm taking....
- KLONAPIN (social anxiety) 0.5mg, 2x/daily
- ADDERALL (severe ADD) 10mg, 2x/daily

Insurance problems ended my....
- NEURONTIN (social anxiety) 600Mg, 3x/daily
- EFFEXOR (depression) 75Mg, 2x/daily

I had no choice. The humiliating result: Paranoid, can't leave house or use phone. I'm edgy: a hand on my shoulder brings shivers. I wear shoes in bed, for strange fear of needles in my feet. My family now avoids me as I'm irritable and short-tempered -- like Robin Williams turned Dennis Leary. Also with my wife I now "perform" like an eager 13-year-old.

Yesterday I wore ear plugs all day to calm my nerves. Today, maybe gloves or sunglasses too. Alcohol is not an option. So besides hypersensitivity, I'm also suffering insomnia and night-sweats (not because of shoes). Nausea, back pain, muscle spasms are all present. This is my world for a while. How do I survive this?

You need back on the Effexor
at least 32.5 2/day, so you
can withdrawl in your own time.
Can you not afford the medication?

Can anybody help you with the costs
temporarily?

I don't know how controlled neurontin and effexor are but will your doctor give you samples? Maybe give him/her a call and give it a try? :) just a thought.

Go immediately to Wyeth.com and search their website for an application for medications (Effexor)through their "indigent" program and fill out your portion and give to your doctor to fill out. Get samples from any of your doctors.
If they don't have samples, ask them to call their Wyeth rep and get samples and to get the "indigent" form. You need to get back on Effexor in whatever way you can. Your physician is your best bet in helping you to find a way to get samples or go through Wyeth's "indigent" program. With a US script from your doctor you can also buy them legally, yes legally folks from Canada. Do a google search "medications from Canada" and you will have everything you need to get Effexor cheaper, with the exception of your doctor's script, which I assume you can get. If you can get Klonopin and Adderral, why does your insurance company not pay for Effexor? Can you get on Prozac? :) Anne
