Has anyone tried Mirapex for PTSD?
Any thoughts on how it might work?
I'm wondering if, by allowing someone with PTSD to experience pleasure, it could ofset many of the PTSD symptoms.

PTSD would probably respond much better to
an SSRI.The only problem I have with Mirapex, is that
by raising dopamine, it can intensify feelings,
it can, in suseptable indeviduals cause feelings of paranoia, and even cause hallucinations.
Depending on the situation - it may intensify
the tramatic experience. You see dopamine has very strong infuance on memory, spacial ability and visual recall.
In other words it may bring the tramatic situation back with a vengence.I would personally recomend someting like celexa, or paxil, because of their likelyhood not to raise dopamine.
All in all, you can give it a try, but pay close attention to how you feel. Before starting - make a journal of how you feel about the tramatic event, and rate it.
Any others have any ideas, comments ??
