Effexor to Lexapro - weight gain and body temp.

Posted by niko on November 28, 2002, at 12:32:28

My doc changed me from Effexor (150 mg/day) to Lexapro (10mg/day) in hopes it would help me control body temp. When I started Effexor, I was 117 lbs, now I'm 145. He said Lexapro should help with that also.

Anyone had or resolved issues like this??
I'm on my 10th day of Lexapro

I was not on any ADs or anything else before starting Lexapro 10 weeks ago, but I can tell you that I have lost 8 pounds on Lexapro since starting it (and I was already very thin to begin with.) Of course these things affect everyone differently but I have heard several people say that Lexapro made them lose weight due to decreased appetite. Good luck!

I haven't changed to Lexapro, but I'm curious about your experience with Effexor. I'm currently taking 300 mg. of EffexorXR.

Did you take the regular Effexor or the extended release?

You mention controlling body temp. Could you explain that a little more. I'm having problems with being extremely warm most of the time.

I hope the Lexapro is helping in the ways you need.

Thanks,
