I just filled my monthly prescription of Remeron and received a generic mirtazipine. I didn't know that the patent had run out. Any one started taking the generic yet? Any noticeable differences in potency?

In reply to Mirtazipine. (Generic remeron), posted by BrittPark on March 8, 2003, at 11:31:41
I believe outside of the U.S. and Canada it is now avaiable in generic form. Even the U.S. got it before us Canadians did, which was only about a year or so ago. I don't know about potency differences, as I think it depends on who makes the generic. It may even be the same company who makes the brand. They often do that at first to keep other generics away. But, there may be others here who have some more direct knowledge for you.Best,
Jay
