Hi!
I ran across prozactruth.com and read their tips on withdrawal. They suggested starting to take Immunocal before you start tapering. It's supposed to boost your immune system and make your brain more receptive to the dopamine and serotonin that's already in there so you don't have to suffer from your brain trying to function on depleted neurotransmitters when you start tapering. Has anyone tried this or even heard about it? Immunocal is also supposed to detoxify and protect you from the adverse effects of medications. If this stuff works I definitely want to get some but I'm from Finland and they don't sell it here. =( But I have someone in the States who can get it for me and send it. =)I'm on Efexor but I need to reduce my dose. Efexor and Risperdal together make me tense and I think my Efexor dose is too high anyway. It's hard to sleep with this dose and I have muscle twitches and don't feel anything etc. I reduced my dose by 37,5mg about a week ago and it made me really irritable and angry and depressed AND AGITATED!! I'm just glad I haven't experienced that electrical zap feeling (yet). I'm seeing my doctor today and I think I'm gonna suggest prescribing me some Prozac while I'm coming down on my dose and I'm gonna ask him about Immunocal. He doesn't seem to be aware of the terrible withdrawals though so he might not take me seriously. Well, good luck to everyone and please comment on this!

In reply to ANYONE TRIED IMMUNOCAL (for withdrawals)?, posted by Tiina on April 23, 2003, at 0:48:18
Hi- I tried Immuncocal for about 2-3 months while withdrawing for Wellbutrin and Prozac. I had many horrendous symptoms while on Prozac and while withdrawing and honestly, I can't say that the Immunocal really helped. I do say that while it is expensive, you should try it, it seems to have worked for others. GOod luck!

I was really interested in trying immucal too for prozac withdrawal and read the stuff on prozactruth about it. But that is the only site i can find saying its good and i saw another site that said they don't recommend it but it didn't say why and i couldn't find the webmasters email address.
