Guys is it actually ok to use Zyprexa during my 10 day washout period? I mean, there is no interaction between Anafranil and Zyprexa is there?
I just want to thank you all for your support. Really gives me faith in human nature despit all the crap going on in the world. We are all strong beings.
I'm finding it hard to be me usual funny self with all this confusion going on - everytime I read an article which praises Nardil I feel I am making a mistake. I actually feel a pang of sadness to be leaving a drug which made me soo happy. But then again, derealization was still to the poiny where, at times, I had to hide from life. Ocd was also very annoying. Of course I can still go back to it, but it is a pain in the ass with the tapering other drug and washout and return of sx and blah blah blah.
I love all you guys. If only we could meet in the flesh...

May I ask you a question? Are you going off the nardil because it is giving you obsessive thoughts or why? (I'm sorry I'm not very good with the technical words or symptoms, unless I look them up.) My reason for asking, is that I've had huge success with effexor, but one problem with it has been that I think more clearly and as a result when my thoughts run toward "morbid" and I seem to get stuck on them. What the psychiatrist has done for me regarding this is give some cognitive suggestions which presently are working. This has been fairly new to me, the cognitive strategy, but so far I'm really happy with the results. And I'm able to stay with the drug that is helping me.

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time with finding the right combination of meds. I can't give you any advice because I have treatment resistant depression. I am currently on Parnate, which worked well at the beginning. The doctor augmented it with Lithium but I couldn't take the side effect. I am just withdrawing from it and he has suggested Lamitcal to augment the Parnate.
However, my question is what is derealization. I know what OCD is. I have a nephew suffering with it. He is only 21 and thinks everyone is trying to poison him.
The best of luck and hang in there. It will be over soon.

He is only 21 and thinks everyone is trying to poison him.Derealization is a little different for everyone, but your nephew is NOT suffering derealization. Derealization, in a lot of cases and mine, is where your brain switches to an unreal feeling/perception of the world. You know that a dime is a dime (ie your not psychotic) but you FEEL unreal, or the world feels unreal. I have derealization seizures which are like panic attacks but the main symptom is derealization. They are like seizures and I lose control and run in fright. Extremely scary, I feel I will never return to my normal state of consciousness. It sounds like your nephew is suffering plain paranoia.
Hope this helps!
