The general consencious is that 1.8 grams of EPA+DHA (which are the two active omega 3 fats) per day is effective.
Most fish oil comes in 1g capsules with an active
EPA = 180mg, DHA = 120mg per capsule. This totals about 6 capsules of the 120/180 content ratio. All brands will work equally, though some are more purified than others. Better brands will go through more screening for impurities.
Fish oil is effective. Especially If your depression involves concentration problems, low energy, and/or anxiety. It only takes a few days and you will notice an effect.Good Luck

Do you think OmegaBrite is really worth the price? Is there a cheaper, equally effective way to do this?
Also, does Dr. Stoll have any financial interest in OmegaBrite?
thx

DR.Stoll owns and operates Omegabrite. He said he couldn't find a product with the correct dose ratios and high enough concentrations of EPA to give to his subjects. Omegabrite is a 500mg capsule, 3 a day and your done. He is quite open about it. His product is also very purified, less fishy smelling and no mercury. Many products with 180mg of EPA per 1000mg capsule are out there. You have to take six a day of those and you will be burping fish all day. If you can deal with the taste and the burps you can do it cheaper than Omegabrite. The burps are the number one reason for noncompliance. You can do the math on price per capsule and the amount of EPA per dollar. I have tried the liquid oil. Its cheaper for sure but I can't handle the taste.
Some people have no problems with the 1000mg capsules or drinking the liquid oil. You can get a pretty good "fish oil" product at Costco.
This is the end of the thread.
