I have a dosage for 3 Wellbutrin pills...Is it important to take them at 3 different times, or can I take 2 in the morning and one later? Will that effect the efficacy of the drug?

Either way you will get the full effect, just stronger all at once or spread out more evenly. I find it better to take spread out, if you take them all at once it makes me prity jittery.

thanks for the reply! did your doctor also tell you that it didn't make a difference (except to make you jittery)? i had heard that it might be a waste to take 2 at a time...

My doctor told me to take all 3-100mg pills all a once in the morning. Day four into the Wellbutrin I took the 2-100mg pills all at once, I didn't like it at all, so the next day I took the second at lunch, much better. When I got to taking 3 of them I took the 3rd at supper. Its still what I do. I read the Wellbutrin pamplet, it says spread them out.

I've been taking Wellbutrin for awhile. I also heard if you take it late in the day, it can keepyou awake at night. My trouble is that I sometimes forgetabout the mid-day and last pill. But the consensus seems to be tht it is better to spread them out.

It takes a while to get the other doses stuck in your head. I've had to turn around from driving to work and get the other 2. Now I put all 3 in an empty pill bottle in the same place for every morning. I take the first one right away, and put the pill bottle in my pocket, so I don't forget, then when I pack lunch in my cooler I put the bottle in so I notice at lunch. On my way home from work I try to remember to take the last one right away or when I get home and unpack lunch, or just seeing the lunch box reminds me.
You can leave the pills in a bottle in your pocket all day, it doesn't hurt them. I would use the bottle so you don't forget.

I believe there is a higher seizure risk if you double-up the dosages. 3x daily for Wellbutrin was replaced by the 1x daily Wellbutrin SR (sustained release). Buying the generic bupropion is much cheaper than the Well SR and it's only availble in the 3x daily dosage. I don't recommend taking 2 at once. I took my Wellbutrin with every meal. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. It is a pain to remember though.
Good Luck!

Even with the Wellbutrin SR I would not take more than one at once, its a waste to do so.

My wife takes 300mg SR in the morning, and the other 150mg in the evening. Hasn't seemed to bother her. However, when I have tried 400-500mg per day, it made my chest tighten, so I had to back off of the higher dose.

I don't believe my Wellbutrin is timed released.

That WOULD change things. The sustained release have the letters "SR" imprinted on the middle of the tablet. The dose and name of Wellbutrin is also imprinted. The 150mg SR being "purple" I guess. Immediate release WB is something I have no knowledge about, or experince with.
