If anyone has an idea of what would help for depression and binge eating, I would really appreciate it. Since Jan, I have went from 110 to 205 and I cannot seem to stop, I always weighed the same, I am 24 and feel totally helpless. I never leave the house. Nothing seems to help. Are there any meds that might help me to get motivated and stop binging?

Yeah,
I'm starting to go to OA. (Overeater's Anonymous) The 12-step model has helped me in other areas of my life.
Wellbutrin can help. I'm on it with Celexa and sometimes, okay often, I binge.
Topomax can be an add-on drug to help you lose weight if you are bi-polar. My psychiatrist almost put me on it thinking I might be bi-polar and thinking that it would help me lose some weight. Well, since we determined that I'm not bi-polar he told me that Topomax can have some bad side-effects and that it would be for me only if I were bi-polar.
I don't know if I really helped but...
Blessings,
Simcha

I would say Wellbutrin or Topamax are your best bets- but please go get your thyroid checked. Go to an endocrinologist if possible. Did you just start binge eating because of depression in January?? The last couple of years I have had a big problem with binge eating but since I've started Zoloft in June- I've been overeating a little but not binging. Good luck to you.

I used to binge eat a lot especially with the meds over the years. When I started Topamax for bipolar, I lost 25 pounds. Just a suggestion.............
All the best,
Gal
