Just started 75mg effexor xr and was sick for 4 days. I'm on my 8th day now. No sleep and some hand tremors and twitching and the other side effects.
How hard is it to get off this dosage when I have to.?
My dr put me on it for anxiety and depression. Is this the right medicine / dosage. It seems to be working. I have never been on anything like this before

Most PDocs recommned starting at 37.5 for the first week before going up to 75. If you receive starter packs (a 14 day supply), they are tailored that way as well.

Is there a best time to take effexor xr 75mg.
I take it in the morning and by the next morning I can feel myself getting aggitated/frustrated with daily life. Is it preferable to take it at night.
I am into my second week now and today I feel like I can takle the world. singing all day and very happy. Hope it lasts like this. Just need to get the mornings sorted out.
Does anybody drink alchol with this med. I have refrained but it would be good to know what others do.Thanks

hmmm really good question! I would try this: try taking it at night so if by the next night you are *getting aggitated/frustrated* you can sleep it off. Do you take any other meds to sleep? You said when you take it in the day the next day you feel these feelings, that's why I wonder if taking it at night may help. I was on Effexor XR for a long time and always took it in the morning because it helped me to be more alert, so to speak.
When I was on it, I did drink alcohol, but not much, only when I went out. Never caused a big problem when I did.

No I don't take any other meds, I'm a real newy to all this stuff, the only thing I took before was Bourbon, Not good long term. I any going to see my doc next week and perhaps we will increase the dose up to 150mg. Whats your thoughts or is 2 weeks too early to be upping. I need to get the mornings sorted out as if I have a bad morning, thats sets the mood for my whole family, eg wife and kids, its not much fun what dads, freaking out at 7.30 before he goes to work. I must say nothing will help if you don't have a support system like family, it may be hard on me physically right now, but the last 2 years has been harder for them mentally. I thank god my wife stuck by me, now its my turn to repay her and my boys with what a true father should be. Loving, caring and compasionate, i'm begining to have that feeling back.

Only your doctor would know if an increase is suitable for you right now. When I was on Effexor, my doc increased my dosages at about every few weeks. Between the forum and the Effexor-I believe you may be well on your way to becoming the father that you want to be.
