Still trying to stay completely objective.
I have been off antidepressants for about 1 and 1/2 weeks. I have experienced very few withdrawl effects and most seem to be physical and not psycholocal. Ie I still have some brain zapps.
I have been taking a small dose of fish oil.
I do have some slight irritability from time
to time. One thing however which incourages me
is the fact that I still have the sence of being here in the present. I havn't really sunk into an altrenate dimention (as I have all other times attempting to get off celexa)When antidepressants work you know they do because they give you a sence of 'being here'
Like the part of your brain that recognizes yourself has been activated. I still have that
sence.I am usng 7hz over the left prefrontal cortex. 3 times per day.

Hi Linadge,
I'm really impressed by what you've done, you must be pretty indegenious.
Are you sure the effects aren't of the device aren't placebo though, I'm really cynical about fish oil, I tried it myself and it did absolutely nothing for me so I always think that anyone who responds to it must be getting a placedbo effect and nothing else.
I know what you mean though about that sense of being in the present, I also always found that when an antidepressant is working my senses are more in tune with everything, you know my hearing, vision, sense of smell seems better. Are you finding this with your TMS treatments?
Kind Regards.......Denise

I am not at all familar with rTMS (rapid transcranial magnetic stimulation). How is this being administered? You make it sound like you have a widget at home or which you can carry about that will do "it" when you reach the scheduled time of day. :-)

rTMS is basically using a magnetic coil that exerts an alternating electromagnetic feild over the left prefronal cortex.
To answer denises question, I personally don't account the fish oil for my improvement. I know it helps a little but certainly not to the extent that I think the rTMS is helping.
The big problem I have with going off the celexa is that I basically usually go into a state of panic. I am very afraid that something will suddenly go wrong, so I almost go manic in my preparations for everything, to the point where I don't really know what is and what is not important. I get very unconfident about my memory and so I spend much time going over and over things to try and learn them but it just never 'clicks' if you know what I mean (that feeling as if you have learned it)
Anyway after each rTMS session I get a strong sence of 'it's ok' Something like how the world can simply not take away from me whats important.
I believe it is the BDNF that rTMS stimulates. I just suddenly get the feeling that no matter what happens here, I will be ok. If I fail every exam it will be ok, I can do something else. If I die right now of some strange disease it will be ok.Can't really explain it much more than that.

To denise528 and linkadge,
I dont know how to include two names in the subject box.> Hi Linadge,
>
> I'm really impressed by what you've done, you must be pretty indegenious.Ditto!
I didnt know you were trying this.
Ive heard of some pretty amazing results for chronic pain subjects with electro-magnetic therapy.>
> I know what you mean though about that sense of being in the present, I also always found that when an antidepressant is working my senses are more in tune with everything, you know my hearing, vision, sense of smell seems better. Are you finding this with your TMS treatments?I was just thinking about this subject when I came across this post.
I was wondering if anyone would understand this feeling. And here you are!
My sensation is that there is a tight band around my head above the brow and all my energy is there. Its buzzy and painful. My eyes feel wired to the band and hurt.
When I take just about anything it seems, pain meds,(Oxy-codone, Tramadol) sinus meds, the WELLBUTRIN that just kicked in, (first day) I feel my energy drop down in to the rest of my body.
Kind of like landing. It feels like waking up to me.When I have that band around my head Im not in my body. It hurts and all my behaviors seem bound up with avoidance.
Like you said Linkadge, you feel suddenly that its all okay. Glad its going well. Hope is stays that way.
peace
Ima
