How effective are the MAOIs in treating depression?
I seem to recall that many mood meds (like the tricyclics, SSRIs, etc) are very approximately 70% effective.
Are the MAOIs any better than this 70?

No way that SSRI's reach anywhere close to 70% remission. The numbers for SSRI antidepressant results are somewhere near 10% remission with a 50% response rate. MAOIs are much more powerful meds than SSRIs - all older pdocs know this.
