I've already tool a lot of meds but there is more combinations to try, psychotherapies and other things. But to what??? To feel nice enought to keep my "life" going on. I stopped my medicine course, loose gret jobs choices and there insn't just one day I dont think in to finish with this thing called "life". At the moment I am taking 9-10 ADs plus meds to other diseases. What is keeping me fine at this days is ritalin, wich I am rising the dosages ang getiing addicted, plus the methadone too. As I live in a small city in Brasil, you must understand how difficult is to get a good pdoc.
But I will try to continue this fight till it ends,win or loose it. Well hope everybody gets fine. Good luck to all!
Thanks, RVP.

Please Ramon Paz don't do anything to harm yourself. You have come to the right place and you are reaching out for help- this is good! You say you are only many medications, this is called polypharmacy and while your pdoc knows what they are, is there a way you cut down and work with one to two meds at a time to try and figure out what is keeping you from functioning optimally?
There are many things you can research online from medical and pharmological as well as pychiatric journals on something called "pubmed".
Many of these should be able to be translated into Spanish- or Portuguese since you probably speak the later. They can be very technical but you can wade through to get some good info. If I may ask, what exactly is your diagnosis? It would be helpful to others on this board to know so we can help with med suggestions. That can really help you narrow down which meds to inquire about to your pdoc. I ask my pdoc about old and new anti-depressants all the time since I have depression and am being treated for it.

hi Ramon, as Searchlight said - tell us your diagnosis & the meds you take & we can discuss.
Please try to remind yourself when you are feeling this badly that you didnt always feel this way. You are unwell & that is making you feel so bad about life. You didnt always feel this way & you wont always feel this way. It will stop! You've just got to hang in there.
If you post more about your meds we can talk about them & if you want to chat there is the Social board (link at the top of the page). You might like to post there & introduce yourself.

well, my problem is that I can take meds w/o prescription... Now I am in(I'll write the compounds due to different names):
->Paroxetine 80mg/day
->lamotrigine 300mg/day
->bupropion 300mg/day(want to rise to 600mg)
->clonazapan Vary from 4 to 8mg/day
->amineptine 200-300mg/day(in the 1st week it made miracles!
->metadon(begun to stop morphine)60mg/day
methylphenidate(getting addicted) now I am on
100mg/day.
Stopped litium,T3, and pramipexole lasts days...Some meds say I have major depression, but another (worthy pdoc) said I am bipolar II.
And to add, I have social Phobia for sure.
Nardil isnt avaliable in brasil, but some import pharmacies sell it $$$.
Now a question: I already took Parnate but I got very nervous. Would I have a choice with NARDIL (maybe plus amytriptiline) without the nervous symptons? I still have hope in Nardil plus some other meds, but then in a phd pdoc(far from here)I'd appreciate any help.Tanks! (no need portuguese neither spanish sites)

hey Ramon, a lot of drugs there! Are you taking any other mood stabiliser if you've stopped Lithium? Im not one of the people here who are really smart about drugs. Hopefully someone will read & comment on those.
I was on Parnate for some time. It was very activating for me, I am quite social phobic too & it made me quite outgoing. I know Ace & some others swear by Nardil for depression & major anxiety problems so that may be a good one to try.
I really think that if you are going to try a MAOI like Nardil or Parnate you really need to talk to a pdoc about the other meds you are taking. Fatal interactions can occur!Are you going to see this pdoc who isnt near? If its going to be a long time before you see him it might be a good idea to at least continue consulting with the pdoc who diagnosed you BPII. That way you can keep yourself safe until you get an alternative set up. If you are not feeling strong at the moment it is good to have support from a professional even if you dont agree with them on everything at least they are there to help while you find someone you prefer & advise on drug interactions.
take good care of yourself Ramon & let us know how it goes

What do you think is the cause of your social phobia? (if you don't mind)
