I read on Paxil that it causes "Sexual disfunctions" what exactly does it mean by that?

I was on Paxil for a short time, not long enough to see if affects would go away but I couldnt get an erection and ejaculation was like the quest for the holy grail. However I think it was the best ssri I ever had for anxiet and social. It may not be as bad for you so don't get scared off. The least sexually interfering ssri I have ever had i s lexaprobut again it's a person by person basis. Some get this with that and others do not.

I'm sorry, but I never found out your sex. I'm guessing you're female, or you probably would already know.
I'm a guy and took Paxil for a while. In addition to making me feel hung over all the time, it rendered me completely, totally, non-functional sexually. I mean COMPLETE lack of function. The drug is actually infamous for this side effect.
Cheers.

Don't be scared to try it. All SSRI's cause this side effect and from experience, (male currently on Paxil 20mg), Lexapro was worse for me than Paxil. Paxil gave me more arousal and delayed ejaculation which my girlfriend didn't mind. You should at least try it for a month and if the side effect outweighs the benefits of the drug, try something different.

my experience was not a problem w/ erection but a numb feeling sexually and anorgasmia (retarded ejaculation). but other than this paxil worked well for me. i went off thinking it was time and over a 2 month period went downhill. i tried going back on paxil and it didn't work anymore. iv'e read since that this is common.
good luck,
wsj

Actually I'm male :) I just was wondering because I never noticed anything on any of my meds, although one encounter I had a little pre-mature but I think it was just anxiety to the situation.
