With any one of these disorders, can hallucenations be triggered by anxiety or depession, depression in particular?
I've noticed I have hallucenations that are triggered by these cycles of anxiety and depression. Mostly visual, mild stuff like shadows dating across my vision, people that aren't really there, voices. This is more annoying than disturbing. A few nights ago, I loked out the window at work and it was snowing, despite the fact it was 59 degrees outside. I was having a lot of anxiety at the time.
My moods cycle between depression, anxiety and mixed states 1-4 times daily. I've never had a full-blown manic episode but I suspect lots of hypomania; dysphoric and mixed.

Hi sdjeff,
When I'm in a severe, suicidal depression, I experience auditory as well as olfactory hallucinations. This is the only time I experience them. My depressions are full of extreme panic and anxiety, or vice versa (I usuall don't know which started first, the anxiety or the depression?). I think these extreme states can definately trigger hallucinations...they do with me anyway... (I'm BPII).

I have schitzoaffective disorder. I often think the tv is talking to me. Like they are watching me on the other side and responding to my facial expresions.
