Hello,
I've been on lexapro (20-40 mg) with wellbutrin XL (150 mg).. I found that the lexapro was a nice feeling but only lasted a couple hours after i took it, plus i had great difficulty sleeping... I also tried Lexapro without Wellbutrin, which was a great failure.. I'm wondering if Effexor ER, with its norepinephrine, may provide the best of both worlds, helping the nice feeling last longer without the insomnia...
Thanx for the read

One of Effexor's side effects is insomnia so... I tried Effexor because it sedated me, especially in the non-XR formula. Past 300mg daily I guess I did feel an increase in energy. Yeah, that energy shot my blood pressure up way way high. I would push Effexor to the back of the list of AD's to try unless you need a heavy hitter with anxiety. Lot's of freaky side effects and the withdrawal can scare you.

> Thanx for the readI had to quit Effexor after a week due to extreme jitteriness. I'm on Lex(10)/Wellbutrin(150) now and so far it's much better(slight jitteriness)

Hi VJW,
I'm also on the Lexapro (15 mgs)/Wellbutrin combo. Just added the Wellbutrin (50 mgs to start, slowly increasing to 150 mgs). Do you mind if I ask what you're taking it for? I'm being treated for depression/anxiety and I'm wondering how effective it has been for other people.

I'm just taking it for depression, which manifests itself as weepiness and lethargy. Like others have said before on these forums, just stopping for gas or groceries has been a huge chore for me. Mostly I'm a couch potato. The addition of WB has helped already. I actually got 2 loads of laundry done last night, which had been sitting there for 2 weeks.(even though the rest of the weekend was just laying around, that was a big step for me)
Hang in there!

Anyway, I take Lex for sadness/depression/lethargy, but the Lex makes the lethargy worse, so the WB gives me motivation. Gets me out of bed in the morning.
My doc wants me to stay on the Lex for the Seratonin boost, though.
Hope that helps.:)
