Hi mbailey I have experienced that frozen feeling before on an ssri called lexapro... I was on lithium 13 years ago and I do not recall that 'symptom' as being one that would be assoc with lith. however anything is possible. I also was on parnate and it sent me into hypomania then it either pooed out or something... I know I am probbly not being of much help here but just wanted to let you know that you are definitley not the only one..how long have you had this feeling? is it all the time? or just periodically? I have heard that lithium can make on feel flat and numb. Is this what you are feeling? Like your're locked in side yourself. I hope that others here on PB can be of assistance to you but yes I definitely had that Blocked in feeling with lexapro...I almost think that it had to do with me being on a relatively high dose.Anyhow I know i am babbling but I would almost def think that it has something to do with the lithium! Just a guess though.Let us know what you find out!

I call my problem locked thinking. It's like my mind just shut locked. I can't remember or keep a conversation going.

Have you had ECT's in the last couple years? I had a hard time thinking of anything for a while after ECT's. I am always re-gaining memory.

I have had this blocked thinking when i started getting severe anxiety. I think I was still on parnate at that time.
