They are uppers and I don't know whether it is safe to mix them. Try asking your doc about Provigil. It did me wonders for perking things up when I had no energy, etc.

hi there...your condition worries me. for the record, i hold a ph.d. in pharmaceutical chemistry and regularly deal with the all too common shotgun approach in re: overmedication. you are overly sedated with the combination of ativan and ambien, although it is worth noting that ambien has a considerably shorter half-life than ativan. the effexor is stimulating in that there is significant synaptic quantities of norepinephrine and serotonin produced at the endplates of the receptors and moderate to mild dopamine flooding. dexedrine is the D enantiomer of amphetamine, which has a binding affinity roughly 10 times that of L-amphetamine (the racemic mixture, i.e., 1:1 L,D-amphetamine is what you get with adderall). ambien is not a benzodiazepene and is safer than ativan in terms of addiction potential and anterograde amnesia, not to mention other side effects. my opinion is to taper effexor while limiting dexedrine to no more than 30 mg qd while lowering the dose of effexor as well. your coktail is overstimulating upon wakening, and your afternoon lull is due to the fact that ativan crosses the blood-brain barrier slowly yet has a longer lasting effect once the crossing has been accoplished. hope this helps, chemist
