Hi
My doctor put me on a drug with antichoinergic effects to stop the crazy depressing amounts of sweating. Reduced sweating is just a side effect of the drug so I'm wondering if one would see the side effects (like reduced sweating) after the first dose or does it have to build up in the blood before you can see a change.
This may seem like common sense but I am so confused- as I have read so many different versions.
Advice needed!!
Thanks so much
D

I am taking propantheline bromide (ProBanthine)
The recommended dose is 15 mg, 3 times daily. i currently take 15mg once or maybe twice a day. I might build it up
So far it seems to be working. I am sweating less even though the humidity factor is 90% here.
Dry mouth/throat is the main side effect at the moment.
Personally I would prefer to take glycopyrrolate (Robinul) as many studies have been done on it and it supposedly has a better side effect profile. but it is not available here in india. My other medications include effexor 37.5mg (which I feel is the real culprit- at high does like 300mg it made me heat up so much I would register as having a fever), lamactil 200mg and wellbutrin 150mg
Take care

>Hi D,
I would say they would work within the first few days. Have you tried TCA's? They have it built in for free as a side effect.
Cheers,
Panda.
