What is the average dose for trileptal?

Posted by BRC on August 12, 2004, at 15:09:10

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew what the average dose of Trileptal was in treating major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and bi-polar. I currently take 1,200mg a day but I don't know if that is too much or too little.

Tried surfing the net for the answer but ran into too much confusion. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Hi there, the dose varies depending upon symptoms... Some people can get away with really low low dosing like 300 mgs/ day, others have to take 2400 mgs... I've heard of people fluctuating doses if they get manic, but I'd ask your doc first ok.

Hi

Trileptal is one of those meds with no "set" dosage. If what you are taking is helping then stay there. If you want to take less meds try dropping the dose a little and see what happens.

Trileptal is the only mood stabiliser I can use and I am so happy it is available.

Good luck to you.

Hi Maxime.

In what ways does Trileptal help you?

Thanks. I'm trying to find something that will work to treat bipolar depression.

Hi Scott,
I feel I can answer this to a certain extent.. I'm on a small dose of trileptal and I've found that it quiets my mind a bit, so I'm not sure if and how it will help you /w depression. I want to up mine personally.
