yesterday and today i have finally felt the anti-depressant effects of cymbalta. Hopefully this is not just due to the upward titration to 40mg a few days ago in which case it will wear off shortly. we shall see. i am encouraged now tho. If i could feel this good from now on i would be very happy, so to speak.
dosing schedule to follow:
25 days @ 30 mg cymbalta (200mg lamictal)
6 days @ 40mg. cymbalta (200mg lamictal)I'm back to my usual coffee intake. The jitters only one cup gave me initially on cymbalta, are gone. The coffee may be contributing to eliminating my naps or else that side effect has passed.
my appetite isn't as low as it was the first few weeks. Still, it's not like it was before and eating is not as ravenous as on other a/d's. I've lost something between 4-6 lbs.
sleeping fine thru the nite.
i've haven't tested to see if the anorgasmia is still there since the initial disappointments.
irritability seems to be better on 40mg than 30mg so far.
more social, more self-confidence. Also the apathy seems to be letting up. Again, these positives could be related to the recent titration of dosage and may not last (pessimistic me) but then again, they may. Keep you posted. With the lamictal boosting the cymbalta I am hoping I don't have to go higher on the cymbalta.

You should be aware that the clinical trials found no efficacy at 40mg, and that the target dose at 60mg is quite an important thing for Lilly to point out to docs.
I'm just saying this because if your energy isn't what it use to be before your depression, and you're just feeling relieved from some overwhelming sense of hopelessness yet nothing more, then it's important to know there's hope at the 60mg and higher doses, Lamictal or not.
I tried Lamictal to augment my Zoloft, but I got one of the (non-lethal) rashes and went off it. I also switched to Lexapro, and am at 20mg. I've never tried Cymbalta, but have tried all the AD's by this point sold in this country, so it seems to be the next option. I'm giving Lexapro one more month at 20mg (or more, if my doc feels like doubling it). Then it's Cymbalta.
I've also got some Selegiline I'm not telling my doc about on its way in the mail, and will be taking that on the side at 10mg along with DLPA supplement or whatever it's called at 1500mg/day.
I have soc. anx. disorder, depression, and ADD. My biggest concern is lack of drive/energy/motivation/focus and procrastionation, which I attribute to the depression as it worsens my ADD. I've never tried Straterra, but am on Adderall 20mg 3x/day. I might be going back to Desoxyn down the road.

i will be watching your posts with interest to see how Selegiline works out for you.
cymbalta seems to make a lot of people curious. I know it did me. If you decide to try it you probably already know the key is to give it plenty of time to work.
